Laser shock peening

Laser shock peening is a surface engineering processes used to impart beneficial residual stresses in materals. The deep, high magnitude compressive residual stresses induced by laser peening increase the resistance of materials to surface-related failures, such as fatigue, fretting fatugue and stress corrosion cracking.

Basically, it is a result of laser material interaction.

SGR-Extra series lasers have been developed since 2007 as high energy nanosecond laser systems which is ideal fit for laser shock peening applications. This series has been delivered more than 40 units.

SGR-Extra series lasers provide the customization service. Specifications such as wavelength, repetition rate, energy, pulse width, beam profile, SLM are all available for customization. Beamtech also developed and gained much experience on burst mode technique and vehicular applications during this process.

From 2007 to 2015, Beamtech provided 40 units SGR-Extra lasers from 5 J to 25 J energy level, especially in laser peening area, Beamtech takes considerably large market share in China. In 2010, GE Aviation from US also purchased one unit of 10 J SGR-Extra laser.
